LG Arena KM900.......... anyone...?

The new LG KM900 is a wonder of a phone. It received 1 million pre-orders before it was released. Although it is a bit small for some, and may not have as wide a range of software as one may hope, the s-class interface, the dolby mobile sound, 3.5mm headphone jack, and build quality quickly make up for this. This handset promises to void gaps that are created by the handsets available now.

At its unveiling at the Mobile World Congress the LG KM900 was hailed as one of the top ten debuts there. It is considered to be a huge competitor for the iphone. To start with you have to admire the build quality of the thing. It's 105.9mm x 55.3 x 12mm frame hosts an impressive 3 inch 480x800 pixel WVGA screen. It has a brushed metal front and soft curved corners and tempered glass screen. It is only 105 grams and will not be a lump in your pocket.

This compact size has a price. For some it does not have a big enough screen to view internet and movies and such. The S-Class interface is the pinnical selling point of this phone. It is very iphone and the screen acting around a cube is a great touch. The icons in the main menu are better organized than rivals and are very well organized. The icons can be scrolled horizontally and therefore the small screen does not take away from the experience. All media scrolls around like a rolodex. This is also true of your contacts and pictures too. I love the way this looks and it is very intriguing. It is definitely as good if not better than the iphone's coverflow view.

The 3.5 mm jack is great for users like me who love taking their music on the road. I hate other phones where you have to carry around a separate attachment for the headphone jack. This small addition is greatly appreciated. Another great thing is the inclusion of the FM transmitter so that you can take your tunes on the road and play them while you drive. I love jamming out to my tunes in the car without having to carry around cds all over the place.

There is dolby mobile sound that you will get to enjoy that will bring virtual surround sound to your ears through the headphones. It is a gloriously wonderful feature if you plan on watching movies or sit and listen to tunes. The DivX capabilities are another thing that people will appreciate if they are into watching movies and such on their phone. You get 8GB of storage for such things. The phone features HSDPA, AGPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. There is also a nice 5-megapixel camera for shooting pleasure.
